Grocery Shopping

(Photo via Flickr: Jessica Mullen)

Last night I went grocery shopping and spent 106 dollars. When I saw the final total my jaw almost hit the floor. I haven't spent more than 20 dollars in a grocery store in over six months. How can that be you ask? I have started to buy groceries only when we need food. So if we decided to make pizza (like we did last night) we would go to the store and buy just the stuff to make pizza. Usually a trip like that would be around 11 dollars and we would go two or three times a week. Sure it is more trips to the grocery store a week but we ended up saving a small fortune on groceries. When you go and buy tons of stuff you end up with tons of stuff you really didn't need. For example last night I knew I needed essentials like rice, beans, milk, cheese, etc. Now buying all this stuff was going to be more than 20 dollars but because I had that in mind I ended up walking out of the store with more than I ever needed. Do I really need four bags of BBQ Cheddar Cheetos? Yes, yes I do and I would argue that isn't enough BBQ Cheddar Cheetos. OK that was a horrible example but you see what I'm getting at. I guess the real news is that BBQ Cheddar Cheetos are back for the summer and I couldn't be happier.
