This weekend was the first time in a very long time where I had no plans of any kind. A refreshing change of pace that was desperately needed after a very busy summer. Originally I had planned on getting a few things done over the weekend but once I got moving I really did a ton of work. I started Saturday by heading up into the attic to do some cleanup. I ended up spending 11 hours tearing out old fiberboard, taking out nails and replacing a window with some help from my friend Jordan. I made so much progress on Saturday that I might even be able to put up some new insulation sometime this week if I can get some free time.
On Sunday I ended up running around town with Jacque as well as cooking up a bunch of meals to eat the rest of this week. Later in the evening we took a bike ride downtown to meet up with our friend Steve to cheer on the Ironman Triathlon athletes. I had a problem with my derailleur which made it impossible to shift gears while riding up a big hill toward the capital which made for a bit of a difficult ride. I complained about how much work that was but after seeing all the athletes who already swam 2.4 miles, biked 112 miles and were in the middle of running 26 miles I felt bad even mentioning it.
(Get it? It's a picture of Iron Man and I'm talking about the Ironman Triathlon. ha ha ha)
