Forgotten Corners of the Internet

Recently I have been cleaning up my archive folder on my computer. The archive folder is basically a dump for all my finished artwork and videos. Once I have the final product I just fill up that folder with all my work files. Lately it has seen a lot of duplication so I've been going through that folder when I get a chance. Today while going through the website folder I found an old web page with a Photobucket slideshow on it. The really surprising thing was that the slideshow still worked.

I went over to photobucket and tried to log in and failed. A short "forgot my password" email later and I was looking at a photobucket account I created in 2007. This account, I created and promptly forgot about, was at best guess logged into around early 2008. This made me wonder how many other rogue accounts I have floating around in cyberspace? More importantly why would a company keep a dormant account like this around for over two years with no activity?

I decided to keep the account active just for the fact that the slideshow I mentioned is still in the archives of this blog. (You can see that here) I guess the only question I have now is what to do with a free photobucket account from 2007?
