The Hackintosh is Dead...Long Live the Mac Pro

Despite my enthusiasm last Friday for building a Hackinstosh system to replace my Mac Pro, I ended up decided against it. After spending a bunch of money on parts for a HTPC last week I did not need to drop another stack of cash on a computer. I tried to justify the purchase by saying that I could easily sell my old Mac Pro to pay for the new computer but it just didn't seem right. Instead I spent a much smaller pile of cash on a replacement graphics card for my Mac Pro. Our main workhorse computer should be back on it's feet by the end of the weekend. I can't wait for it to be happy, healthy and productive again. Then I can finally finish a few projects up....hopefully.

Your probably asking what is up with the feet picture to the right. While searching for a "happy mac pro" photo for this post I found that image. After following a few links I found a story about a monk who prays so much that he has embedded his footprints in the wood floor of his temple.

The story reminded me of Scrooge McDuck's worry room where he walks a rut in the floor as he walks in circles worrying.

Which in turn made me wonder who would hire Launchpad McQuack to be their pilot?

Which made me remember how awesome Duck Tales was for the NES. Thanks to that one monk Duck Tales will now be the first thing I play when I finish my HTPC.

Thank you Hua Chi!
