It wasn't long ago now that I came to terms with my video game geekiness. The realization that I was playing too many video games lead to less games being played. The flip side to that coin is that now the games I do play get more attention and love than ever before. So where did all these games come from?
For as long as I can remember I've had this thing in the back of my mind that draws me to keep games I've long since finished playing. This idea that I might want to play this again someday so keeping it around is a good idea. The sad realization is that I never get around to playing them again. But what if? What if I'm sitting around my house in 10 years and I want to play a Sega Dreamcast game? Well if I hang onto the old games I'll just dig out the old system and have a go.
All of a sudden I'm looking at a shelf full of games I don't play anymore. I would even go so far as to guess I only play two or three of those games on the regular. I'll never get around to playing those old games because I have too much new stuff to play. I can't even remember the last time I even started to think about digging into the collection of classic games I have sitting in my mom's basement.
So here I am wondering if I'm hording video games or collecting video games and no matter what the truth is I want to get rid of some of these games. The big question I have to answer is what games to get rid of and what games to keep?
