That is pretty much the only house left in all of Gilchrist Texas after Hurricane Ike passed through on the 13th. For miles around there is nothing except this house. In fact it was so unbelievable that when I found that picture on The Big Picture I thought it was a fake for sure. After looking into the story online it turns out the picture isn't a fake at all. The house was originally destroyed by Hurricane Rita and was rebuilt in 2006 to withstand a category 5 hurricane. It looks to me like the guy who built it will be very, very busy for the next couple of years.
